Andrea has stepped into the Practice Manager role from a long background in hospitality and fitness. Her passion for helping people has been welcomed with open arms in the Sapien Team.
On days she isn’t at Sapien Rehab and Performance, Andrea is a mother and student, studying Holistic Counselling. She started Holistic Counselling after experiencing her own mental health challenges. Andrea holds a special interest in post-natal anxiety, depression, and relationships. To further help people, Andrea has completed Mental Health First Aid and offers a safe space for people needing any help and support.
Andrea has found a new hobby with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and combines that with daily walks with her dog Harry, the Blue Heeler and classes at Holistic Pro Health.
Byron graduated from Bond University in 2017 with a Doctor of Physiotherapy Degree.
Prior to this, he completed a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science also at Bond University.
Byron is a Senior Physiotherapist with a rigorous background in Sports and Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation. His career saw him begin in a busy private practice managing a varied caseload with patients of all ages across a range of sports, pre and post operative care, DVA and those looking to return to work following workplace injury.
Born and raised in Tweed Heads, Byron is passionate about using his experience to give back to the local community. His career to date has seen him work with elite and recreational surfers, every day athletes and local sporting clubs including the Bilambil Jets Rugby League Cub and the Tweed Heads Seagulls Queensland Cup in 2021.
Byron looks to combine his career and his passions of surfing, strength & conditioning and human movement. Experience with personal lower back and shoulder injuries has provided him with the tools, experiences and lessons to provide cutting edge injury rehabilitation and physical performance enhancements.
Incorporating the latest research and evidence alongside strength and conditioning principles, tailored exercise programs and hands on treatment modalities allows Byron to provide individualised management for people of all walks of life. He believes that helping the client take control of their situation is the quick road to returning to full function after injury.
Byron has been involved with the water based research unit at Bond University where he is a lead author and has published research within the realm of surfing and hydration. His lifelong passion of surfing alongside strength and conditioning drives his professional and personal development forwards.
